IH 1PR husking rolls

Has anyone ever seen more than one type of RUBBER husking rolls for an International 1PR corn picker? I have an IH Mccormick 1PR and the rolls look exactly like the parts book picture. I came across one for sale last night and the rubber rolls are different. They look more aggressive like round rubber compacted together with the shaft going through the middle of it. The 1PR for sale is a later model picker, mine is an early model (still has the red elevator). Could these rolls have been transplanted from a New Idea or some other picker ( I saw a new idea once with this style of rubber roller)? All in all I am trying to get my husking bed to its peak as far as cleaning the husks from the cob. I may buy this machine as it is in good shape, but if I can get mine to husk better I will deffinetly use it. Thanks!

The only place I know of that re does husking rollers is Mar-Rob Enterprises 407 Warren st. Duncombe, IA 50532. phone 515-543-8633. They redid the ones from my JD 300 2 years ago. Lee

Thanks for replying on the rebuilding of the rubber husking rolls. Do you remember what it cost roughly per roll. I have three rolls, and would have to ship them, but I am debating wether to have them redone, as I only pick less than 5 acres with it. Thanks!

You probably saw some Minnesota Rolls, instead of the smooth rubber, that runs next to the lugged or spiral type.

Not sure about the 1PR, but we once had a NI 311 that needed new husking rolls, someplace in Pella Iowa was rebuilding them at that time; the ones we got were like you described; small pieces of rubber pressed together. They made a world of difference in husking.
