Rumor has it that New Holland is set to acquire Woods Equipment Co. the maker of rotary mowers, finish mowers and loaders. Woods canceled over half their dealers a few years back for poor sales performance. I guess poor is better performance than none, duhhhhh!

I found similar results as listed below. Woods has a reputation for building quality implements but Landpride has the same reputation and they have excellent customer support.

I've been very pleased with every Landpride implement that I've used. Built strong and does the job. Not cheap but they aren't built cheap either.

I bought a Woods 6' snowblower in a crate a few years ago, one I had to assemble. Unfortunately, it can with the wrong assembly/operators manual. I called the factory to get the propoer manual. Even though it was their screw up they still wouldn't send the correct manual unless I paid for it. Told them to keep their manual. Now all their manuals are available online, free to download. Even though their support is crap they still make an excellent product.

New Holland is part of Case New Holland along with Case International
Hestton is owned by AGCO along with Massey Ferguson, Gleaner and others.
Wood's owns TISCO among others.
Don't know about the buyout.

If I"m correct, Hesston has Wood"s equipment. I got an owner"s manual ooline from them in April for a used RM-59 mower I bought. The manual says Wood"s division of Hesston Corp. on the cover sheet.

Cant speak for the Woods quality. But I have tried contacting them on 4 different occasions with questions. Never received a repsonse much less an answer one time.

Now, as I replace equipment, it is now all Land Pride because of the crappy service at Woods.

Same here. Quality is usually on par with others in the same price range but definately no better. Service and warranty issues is way below average. Like you, I was ignored on several occasions. Much better luck dealing with Bush Hog.
