Hello,
I am new here and was given this link by someone from tractorbynet.com. Anyway, I was cleaning up my grandpa's farm turning the property into campground business and I found this McCormick-Deering implement at the hog house. I am not sure what to do with it and I have no desire to keep it, however would be interested in possibility of selling it to serious antique collector.

If there is no buyer within next 6-8 months, I plan on scraping it for money at local metal buyer. I would really hate it not to give some serious collector an opportunity to buy it...

So now the main thing is.. What do I do first to get it going??

Hello again,

Thank for the reply and I will post the pic of it in few days. I don't have a camera because my phone got stolen recently and it is what I was using to take pics. My buddy will be here in few days and I'll ask him to take some pics then I will post it here and see if we all can find out what it is.

From what it appear, it seems to have some kind of foot pedals and that's all I can tell from my perspective of it.

And I don't plan on selling it at very ridiculous money. Just wanting to get what it's worth enough to help pay taxes so can keep land in the family.

McCormick Deering name could be anywhere in a 100+ year range from early 1800's to mid 1900's and be either horse drawn or tractor equipment. It could be anything from tractors to ground preperation, seed planting, cultivating, hay making, harvesting or livestalk equipment. First thing is to figure out what implement it is. Tractor, Walking plow, Manure Spreader? All makes a difference.

Post a picture here, and someone will surely identify it for you, and give you an idea of it's worth.

Some old farm stuff sells real well on ebay, and, also, there's a classified ad section on this site... look over at the left, near the top.
