I picked up a 4-14" IH trailer plow today. Seller said it is a 70, but I don"t think so. It"s got a big square beam, and a trip hitch with solid bottoms. What"s the difference between a 60 and a 70? Thanks.

Hugh- These rockshafts pivot above the frame, so it must be a 70. It's odd that IH had the rockshafts above the frame on my 16, below on a 60, then back on top on the 70. The rockshafts are also smaller on this plow than on my 16. The 16 actually looks stronger than the 70. As soon as I get some new landslides, I'll see how it plows. Thanks for the help.

toolz: Nothing to do with age of plow. The 16 and 70 were high clearence deep tillage plows and those long rockshafts, ( much longer than on the 60 as well) gave them extra range.

toolz: 60 rockshafts for front wheels pivot below the frame and 70 rockshafts for front wheels pivot above the frame.
