anyone out there ever had this Problem ?Snapped another main drive belt, $75 Bucks! shear bolt did not shear Either time ,,,??...my guesss is there is a bearing locking up somewhere ? Earlier this season Had the apron Chain Out and replaced right side main shaft bearing ,,While in there checked All other bearings .they all seem to be free and tight ,Guess one fooled Me ,, If not bearings ,,? COULD IT BE THAT THE BELTS ARE DEFECTIVE FROM THE MANUFACTURER , 4 belts total (2 last year ) on the 846 Baler, 2 Main drive belts, 1 reel drive on the NH 489 hay bine , And a main traction drive belt on a Massey 300 combine ,,All were New AGCO, properly adjusted ;not fiddle string tight . All broke right away , been a tough year for belts ,, Jim

Have an 846 that I was having trouble with the main drive belt. The pin on the pivot point of the arm holding the idler was flexing too much, allowing the belt to run off and tearing it up. Talked to a NH dealer after the second belt and he mentioned that there was a fix for the problem from the factory. I made my own fix by adding another support to the outside of the pin. Have not had any problem with it since.

Thanx Joe ,,We have put new bushing in that pivot for same reason ,cured that problem,,,Honestly I think it is a bearing locking up on the Main drive shaft ,,All appearances seem Good ,But I will tear into it tomorrow to find the culprit, Thanx
