I want to grind some hay with my Farmhand drinder/mixer. What size screen should I use?

we use a 3/4 and a 1 inch i can find the screens for you if you need them

The finer the better. If the hay is too course it will bridge in the tank. Make sure you have enough grain in the tank to start with. The problem is small screens take ALOT of power and are slow to feed.

I was always told that I needed a 2" Screen. I have never seen a screen that big. Thanks.

We always ground alfalfa with a 5/8" screen on our Gehl grinder/mixer for calves and hogs.
