I have read a couple places not to mix Alligator lacing and the clipper style lacers on the same baler. I have a Vermeer 605 K and was thinking about starting to use Alligator clips when I break a belt or one was needing to be re laceds. Is this a bad idea, not sure I understand why not to mix the 2 styles. Anyone with experince running both style at same time? thanks

The K balers have twisted belts and the Alligator lacing is not designed to be used with twisted belts. If the Alligator lace gets hung you will distroy your belt. The current Rebel and M Series run straight belts that are always tight so the Alligator lacing works great on these current model balers.

I use it on a 604 super J. I think it is far better than the clipper and simple to use in the field. I don't know about mixing them. I pulled all my belts and cut to the same size and put in all Alligator that was 8 or 9 years ago and have not been sorry. Far better lace than clipper!!!!

Don't use the Alligator lacing on a Vermeer K baler. You need more flexibility than the Alligator can offer in the lacing so use the clipper style lacing.
