plow bounce update

I was already changing tires and puting new ones on the cultivator and fixing the front on our 165, so I threw our spare 11L-15 4-rib on the plow and made a couple rounds with it.

As far as I can see, the heavier tire fixed the problem. The 235-75 R15 car tire just can't be safely blown up that hard, and it just can't support as much weight, so it would squat down with the plow pulling into the ground and then it would spring back after it squatted too far. With the 11L on there it doesn't squat, therefore no more bounce. I even pulled it in 3rd over which is when it would be the worst.

I'll just have to get an implement tire mounted on the rim for the plow, and keep the tire for a hay wagon.

Donovan,

Glad you figured it out. I'm getting ready to try out a semi-mount 4-16 on my AC7000.

First time ever running a semi-mount, one less problem that I might have to deal with.

I thought it might be the tire. My 5500 15 shank chisel plow starts jumping about the time it really starts doing a good job and i suspect the car tires on it. Most say a 5500 is a good chisel, my neighbor had a 55hc that worked but i am dissapointed in mine. My 1570 Case plays with it!

Gets kinda hard riding a bucking bronc all day aint it? It would get the same way sometimes with the plow. Worked good today though.
