My JD 467 with mega-wide pick-up had no problem baling corn stalks last year when we had a drought. I just ran a rotary pasture mower behind combine, then raked and baled. Stalks made more rolls/acre than I thought they would. Tx Jim

We used to use an 855 new holland. The last of the chain balers. Worked really good in cornstalks, big pickup, didn`t make those super tight bales. I`ve seen guys small square cornstalk bales. Any baler will probably work OK, just a matter of how hard you want to be on the equipment.

I 'hear' softcore or chain balers work better than the new belt balers.

An old belt baler will really struggle in stalks.

I have a Vermeer F, and it makes a few bales, but is no fun. My neighbor has a new NH BRsomething, and I found out he has difficulty too in some yars.

Other years it works pretty good. Fall is usually cold & damp around here, so optimal conditions don't always exsist....
