My in-laws have a working McCormick #4 Horse Drawn Mower. They have broken a couple of guards- the piece that the teeth fit into. Can anyone suggest a source or sources for replacement parts? They live in Tennessee.

Thanks!
Deb

For any cutter bar parts just go to any farm supply store. the bars will all from the oldest No. 4 to the newest tractor pitman style mower are all the same.

Leroy,

Thanks for the response! They checked at their local TSC and they said they have the parts for #7 & #9, but they believe they have to drill holes in the guard to get it to work for #4. Is this right? My father-in-law is worried that using substitute parts will decrease the value as an antique if he ever wants to sell...

Antique value!? For 99.9% of the folks out there it's a yard ornament. They won't care. For the other .1% of us that might actually use it, we'd replace the guards and knives and anything else that needed it anyways. I have a #5, and 2 #9's. Without updating parts they're just scrap iron.

Any parts for a 7 or 9 should bolt right on. If I had my book handy I could tell you the actual part no. Is the mower a No. 4 or a Big 4? I have a No. 4, Big 4, Big 6 and No. 7 and a 27 tractor mower
