Just picked up this spreader. works great. Will change out wood and do a little sheet metal work. I have found a little JD green paint underneath and on some of the frame work.

Most definately a David Bradley. I have one of them that's been in the bushes for about 15 years. Now you've got me thinking about fixing it up!!

The 15 or 16" tires say David Bradley and the levers to the side also say David Bradley as that same spreader was made with instead of a tractor hitch a front axle for use with either a tractor or team and the side levers were so you could have a seat on it. It would be the 75 bushel size. Oliver and Dearborn along with the McCormick 100 spreader used the small size wheels but they were all steel spreaders so that eliminates them. All the other makes used either a 20" or 24" tire except the Moline that used an 18" and that is not a moline.

Doesn't look quite right to be a New Idea.We have a #17 and that is not one.Agree with charlie.Read that silver tag and see if it offers any info at all.I think the NI tags were on the tounges, but would have to look.Spreader looks good though, regardless of make.

Wow, I took that picture, never once noticing the tag. I am on the road right now, but will post an update as soon as I get back home. Thanks for all the input. Gonna use this one to spread horse manure and sawdust.

Definitely not New Idea. On the left side in the second picture there is a tag on the 3 upright brace. It's silver and riveted on. What does it say?

It does have a New Idea look to it, but I don't know much about David Bradly, so can be. Both used similar colors.

It's not JD.

The more I look at it the more I think maybe New Idea 17. Still 1950's red wood, green frame.
