What's the story with Grazon P&D - Do you need a chemical license to buy it? From what I can tell it doesn't appear to be one of the "lethal-toxic" herbicides. What does it cost per gallon?

Well since you already have 2,4-D then the Remedy is probably a better deal for you. Not sure what crossbow costs but remedy is about $90 a gal.

Remedy $73, Crossbow $65...but... in reply to TWJanak, 10-08-2007 09:33:28
...I don't have a clue as to mixing in Amine 2,4D is a good or bad thing. Just trying to figure out how to kill the pictured weeds below using herbicides obtainable in Florida. Also, do not want to kill by Bahia pasture.

It appears that both Grazon P&D and Triplet herbicides require a chemical license to purchase. I do not have said licence. My other alternatives appear to be Remedy and Crossbow to control the weeds I listed (SCROLL BELOW TO THE PREVIOUS PAGE TO SEE PICTURES OF THE FIVE WEEDS I'M TRYING TO GET RID OF). Which is better, Remedy or Crossbow. I already have 2-4D Amine that I could mix in

Clem,

I posted down the page a little further. You won't be able to legally use Picloram containing herbicides in Florida, so no Grazon. The "Triplet" herbicides do not require a license in Florida, neither does Crossbow. I don't think you will be able to make your own "Crossbow", as the 2,4-D in Crossbow is an ester formulation, as opposed to the amine you have. If you purchase Triclopyr 4 or Remedy, I would jar test to ensure compatability, though I think they will mix fine. The ester vs. amine formulations is another discussion all together. There are pros and cons to each, depending on what you are trying to accomplish and where.

I was told that Triplet does require a license to purchase. So, based on your experience with the pictured weeds will both Remedy or Crossbow kill those little devils?

This post may or may not be allowed, but: My office is in Lake City and I am a licensed pesticide dealer. I would use 2 qts per acre generic Remedy (Triclopyr 4 with pasture label)with 1 qt surfactant. I can't imagine that not providing adequate weed control while leaving your grass undamaged. Send me an email and I can assist you further.
