Looking at mowers and checked out the Woods web page. Unlike Deere it doesn't list MSRP prices. Are their medium mowers much cheaper than Deere?
How is the quality?

I like to have some info before I talk to a dealer.

Thanks,
Bill

We have run Woods barnd for close to 30 years. Last year we hired an expirenced guy to help by mowing our open, stump infested fields. He said that he couldn't believe how strong the mower was. It was nearly 20 years old at that time. No comparison when talking value - Woods.

JD & Woods sell economy models too. Most Deere dealers sell a line called Frontier but I don't see them as much cheaper. Rhino & Bush Hog sell lighter made models too and most are okay for light work but not for lots of acres or heavy use. More brands out there too just decide on how far you want to go for blades or parts later.

Don't overlook LandPride. They make quality equipment but quality costs what it does.

Something to consider is no matter what you buy it's going to hurt some. Even a $600 King Cutter is a hit to the wallet.

After some time you will get over the "hit" regardless of what you bought. NOW comes the pain.

If you bought cheap you will regret that day each time you have to cut a job short and fix what you had to drag home. When you buy quality, it's a pleasure to use every time you hook it up.

I've never been sorry for buying quality implements but I've sorely regretted buying junk.

Just my humble opinion.

King Cutter is a much cheaper than Woods or Deere.

If my memory serves me correctly they start at around $600 and area available at TSC (Tractor Supply Company).

I personally am not impressedt with King Cutter, but others here have had good luck with them.

You can't compare a Woods or John Deere mower with a King Kutter!!!!!

I agree 100%. I'm no fan of King Cutter.

He was looking for something cheaper than JD. I think King Cutter is about as cheap as you can get, but you get what you pay for.

Bill - I bought a 6'Woods finish mower last year ($2400 Can.)and have been very pleased with it. However, with the stronger Canadian dollar, I could have bought it cheaper now. Don't know what the American price would be.
