a friend of mine that runs a small scrap yard has gotten in a part of a AC PTO rake tedder with some good parts on it and we thought before he cuts it all up to see if anyone would be interested in any parts off it. The drive seems to be complete and good except no front half to PTO shaft. PTO shield is bent but believed reparable, front wheel assembly except for rim seems complete and usealbe and several sevicable teeth. The rear bearings look good. Any market for any of these parts or should he just cut it up? If anybody is interested in any of the parts tell us what you are interesdted in and we will see if they are good to dase and when we know what parts, if any, to keep we will list them in the classified section of this board. The rake is in northwest Ohio.

Leroy, I have one of these rakes and there are a few still around this area. Following items come to mind that are worth salvaging: Gearbox, large chain sprocket, chain tensioner, slip clutch assembly, pivot casting for front wheel, bearing assemblies on rake bars if they aren't worn out, the bars themselves, tooth holder clips, stripper bars between the teeth.

Is this the old first rakes AC came out with, Tounge/Front Wheel on the Right, Rear Wheel on the Left. I've got one, could use some bearings on the bars, & some teeth.

Yes that is the type, I don't know a model number. The bar bearings are tight, no slop but I do not know if there might be a roller or ball bearing in there that is stuck. How would you get the bearings off the bar to know the quality? Are the bearings actually 1 piece or 2? Are all the bar bearings the same or are different spots different? Don't know much about the AC rakes. Know the old style steel wheel rakes in New Idea, IHC, JD and the david Bradley Rubber tire rake. When we find some information to know what we are taking apart so we do not do damage and find out for sure exactly what we have I will get back with you.
