Yep. I'd bevel it out, preheat it with a torch and then weld it with a Sodel 35 Ni-rod. I must be some lucky since it always works for me...

If the welding doesn't hold I think a good machine shop can probably make a new one from steel. APG is getting a lot more personnel from base closures. Hal

Butch , It looks like cast iron and if it is arc is
probably the worst choice of welding repair.

Clean it , vee it , preheat to 1200 ,weld it
with o/a cast iron rod ,normalize and cool
slowly.
If you don't find one and need it repaired, send
me and email. I can do it and it will not be with nickel arc!!

Thats a yes, no or maybe thing. With the right tools and the right skills yes it could be made to work again but it will not look like it did when new. I know I sure would give it a try in my shop but I will always give the hard stuff a try once

looks like a machine shop could make you a piece like that. might be costly, but might salvage the plow if welding doesn't work. if you know some black smiths or founder people, they might be able to recast that part for you. heard of it being done from other sites, but can't help any from there.

Looks like may be cast iron. Needs be be heat treated (made pretty hot), then welded with a nickel rod, then cooled gently. Ask the shop if they can weld cast iron. As previously said, may hold, or may break. Depends on how much weight or torque is put on the piece.

Not sure if available or not.

Good Luck!

looks like a good clean place to repair.Take it to a reputable shop in your area and see what they can do with it.Won't cost you much, may work for years, may break the first time.Worth a try.pd
