Exactly how tight should the floor chains be.Everything in the manual seems to be clear as a bell except on the floor chain tension. It says to adjust the tension so you can pickup the chain and move the pulley 3/8". With that definition, I could pick the chains up 18" if they were stretched and still get my 3/8" so maybe I'm not understanding what they're trying to say. A buddy told me that the floor chains should be fairly loose but never defined how much fairly loose is. I can grab mine in the center of the channel and lift them a good 6" off the channel. Pullies really never seem to move. Channels are worn most of the way thru and I ordered replacements. I read in the manual I can remove 2 links and install a half link in order to take up slack. How many times can this be done? I hadn't checked to see if the previous owner already did this or not. Thanks, not that familiar with this old chain baler. Richard
