We had one of those circular (buzz) saw's that would mount on a Farmall H. My late dad would use a file to sharpen ours. You want to be careful working around that saw if you are planning on using it. I prefer using a chain saw
and you can cut wood a lot faster and use a log splitter on the large pieces.

We always used down trees for firewood and we spent days using a crosscut saw to cut the large
pieces in 7 to 8 feet long, then used wedges and a sledge hammer to split the large pieces so we could handle them. Before we had the H we would haul the wood and stack it up to be sawed with a free standing buzz saw and an old 10-20. I used fire wood up until a few years and I used a chain
saw and you can cut the wood where it laid. I took a small hydraulic floor jack along to lift the logs off the ground and then I would place limbs under the logs so the chain wouldn't hit the ground. Hal

Doesn't sound to me like you are talking about a
crosscut saw, Buzz saws as we call them in NY are round, with lots of teeth. I sharpen mine with a
4 inch grinder, and set the teeth by holding a hammer against one side, and tapping the other side
of the tooth with a smaller hammer.

I have a saw sharpener and tooth setter that I would sell. It is in very nice condition, with manual. Send me a e-mail.

Try a search for Crosscut saw company or do like my dad taught me to do it. Just use a good file to sharpen the tooth and a crescent wrench to tweak the set you want on the teeth.
