Sears Roebuck running gear wheels

I am working on an old Sears Hay wagon. The wheels are spoke ones that slide onto 2 bearings that are on the shaft. (not tapered) Is anyone familiar with these? Was there ever a conversion hub made to use newer wheels? Are there used wheels out there?

Sounds like one of my projects. I am working on a wagon running gear that has metal spoke 16 in wheels that have rubber tires and 2 roller bearings in each hub. They are not tapered either. I have been trying to figure out what brand of wagon gear it is. It has had red paint on it but mostly rust now. I can not find a data plate on it anywhere. What color is your wagon running gear?

THe wheels appear to have been yellow. I am not sure of the running gear color, but I have a hunch it was either green or red based on other discussion I found. Mine is an older fifth wheel style.

i just bought a sears farm wagon a couple of days ago from the original owner who had it delivered in 1951 still has original paint,wheels are green floor is red and this has grain sides that are green.i did alittle research and until 1953 david bradley made these for sears. this one is a 7 x 14.

I would say the gear was red. And while most wheels were red some were yellow as on a Sears Farm truck wagon that Dad bought new in 1946. The unit I have with the spoke wheels and fifth wheel hitch is older than the 1946 gear. I also have a second gear with the straight bearings with no identification on but there are several parts that are identical to the one that says Sears so I think it is also a Sears.

You might try changing out spindles & then you can buy any type hub you want . Use a droped 3500 lb spindle you can buy at most boat shops .

I have one of those wagons. Was orignaly on steel cut to rubber rims, The rims are completly rusted away and I need to cut them off again and weld new rims on. No conversion to newer wheels that I know of.
