I think the fluid on my hoist on my grain truck is low (dont lift all the way up). I was wondering what the correct fluid would be, or at least an idea. Thanks.

I'm with Allan on this one... Just about any hydraulic fluid will do, and if you're under it block the sills as far back as the block will fit; right to the hinge if necessary. That's what you should do anyway...

added about a gallon and a half and then raise and lower, leaving the filler cap off. may have to do it twice to get all the air out. add a gallon at a time after that. when its working right, then put the filler cap back on. put everything you can between and under anything that looks like it might come down on you. set a front end loader up under it, if you can't find anything better.

Cannot imagine that happening, or putting one's self under an unsupported dump body, the old ones like mine do not have that safety prop/arm that you can unhook and let down to block it to the frame, when having to do any work under mine, I take 2 6"x6"x 12's and shore up the high side, also block between the dump body and frame. Even if it had the safety prop, not stout enough for my liking, I use the timbers.

The real pain about some of these is you can't check the fluid level when the the cylinders are all the way in, so if you overfill it, while it's up, it will come out the vented cap on the tank.

Any hydraulic fluid.

Be careful when you're working on that thing.

Just a few months ago, the neighbor across the road from me cut himself in two.

Block the stringers!
