Flailmaster (http://flailmaster.com) and Montage (http://montageent.com) both sell aftermarket knives.

Before you order, though, check with your local Alamo Mott dealer and see if he will make you a deal on a full set of OEM knives. I have found the Mott knives to be a little heavier than the aftermarket knives.

Don't forget to replace the rings and/or bolts while you're at it.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if you have to use the u bolt hangers? Mine are missing, but I have seen some where the knives are just bolted directly to the drum. thanks, Dave

What you can use depends on the particular model of mower. If you switch knife types, you will want to change them all out.

On my ancient F6 Mott, two different types of knives are available: There is a short "rock and trash", or "coarse-cut" knife that attaches with a D-ring. There is also a "fine-cut" knife that is longer (about 5 inches long) and bolts directly to the cutter shaft. I have the coarse-cut knifes and I would not want to use the fine-cut; I have a lot of rocks and stumps on my place.

The Montage catalog will show the different knives for your particular mower.
