Got any idea of the approximate age of this 1116? 80s or 90s maybe?

Thanks,

Allan

Allan, Blue books said 1982-87, 80 hp Perkins, 12, 14 or 16 ft. headers. New list price on them was $46K to 47K. Tell them they are asking too much and what it was worth 10 years ago maybe. I 2nd looking for a Hesston before that one.

Allan, forget that thing. I'm sure its a fine machine, but the head on that I would bet is identical to the head on the same age hydraswing. Meaning find a hydraswing of the same vintage and the cutting/conditioning portion is the same meaning you can cut pretty much the same amount of hay using one of your Internationals. Plus for that kind of money you can get yourself a New Holland 1475 with a much much better header that will make that thing look sick. No point in paying for a motor when you have plenty. Or you can tell the wife you need a different IHC to pull the mower.

For the most part you don't have to look back all that often. I know that sometimes you hit something and it clogs the sickle, but for the most part you can see it coming before it gets to the header and you can watch it for the 10-20' after it hits it. I love having our hydro-swing.

Allen. that machine would be around a mid 80"s.
here in Utah it would be only around $8000.00.
I have a hesston 6600 diesel and would only own a self propeled, the only way to go. take a look @ agri-service.com lots of stuff ya need >:)

Yes Sir,

I offered 'em 8 and I really got the horse laugh; they said it was really worth $20K. Go figure. :>)

I think it is priced so high because all those old turkeys are out working yet and ya just don't see 'em on the lots much. I know it has been completely rebuilt, but dang!!!!

Really don't want a hydro-swing. Don't like pull type combines either. :>)

According to NH production info sheets the 1116
was first built in 1980. Chuck

Allan,

I see Sperry on there... and SperryRand sold NH to Ford in September of 85 I believe, so the Sperry would have come off shortly therafter.
If I had to guess I'd say it's a late 70's to early 80's machine, but I don't know too much about them.
So that thing just "follow" you home already?

No,

Sure tried to hook it Saturday morning.

It is really, really nice; new diesel engine and been thru the shop, but they are talking around 18K for the thing.

Seems high to me for one that old. Also, they claim it is a 16 footer; looks like a 14 to me. :>(

For that kind of money you could buy a really nice 13' center pivot pull type discbine that would mow circles around that self propelled rig and would have alot less maintance.

Yep I agree with Cliff.

The upkeep on one to use only for a few hours a year would be bad.

Weren't many in this part of the country cause of that reason.

Now out west for a guy like WyoDave that mows all summer I could see the fit.

Gary
