Woods HD 315 Batwing Wing Lift Cylinders

I need to rebuild the hydraulic wing cylinders on a HD 315 batwing mower. I believe the cylinders are made by Bruning. I took a lock ring off the top and can't figure out how to get the rest apart. Is it threaded or does it just slide out?

Best to get the diagram from the dealer. Designers like to hide parts. EX: Just rebuilt JD 148 loader bucket cylinders. Outside snap ring is obvious- then you need to push IN the end cap (guide), to expose another snap ring that keeps the guide from moving in the opposite direction. On a JD 7000 8row planter, the wheel slave cylinders have snap rings that you access THROUGH the hose connection ports. Smooth looking cylinders, but a dickens to work on without a diagram. Sometimes the seal kits have pix, but not always.

I've tried to fight with rebuilding these cylinders myself.

I ended up measuring the cylinder and going to tractor suply and buying one for around $86. It was well worth the money just to put the new one on rather than messing with the old one and having it still leak after putting the new seals in.

If I remember correctly the rebuild kits run around $40 for all the seals.

As far as the shaft sliding out or being threaded. I've seen them both ways, I'm not familiar with that particular brand. I'll let someone with that knowledge answer that question
