I recently purchased a 15x7 Van Brunt Grain drill, ser.516, it does not have the grass seed box attachment.

The owners manual along with the seed scale decal inside the grain box says you can plant sudan grass seed in the grain box.

Can you plant other grass seeds thru the grain drill also or do i need the grass seed box for that?

I am interested in planting a hay field with a pasture mix of timothy, broom, orchard grass, rye.

I am interested in purchased the grass seed box attachment if anyone has one for this drill.

Yes you can plant grass with it as is. You may have trouble with it planting too much of some really small seed having to cut seed cup openings down more and not enough of fluffy grass seeds. Many have put stirring rods that are chain driven into the large box for planting grass otherwise you have to stop and stir it up regularly. We always took the seed tubes out of the openers just letting it fall out tubes on drill to plant grass or overseed some.
