I just bought an AC Wd and it had a verity of attachment and one was a Model 80 sickle bar. I would just like to know how much is one worth and how do you attach it to the lower part of the tractor. This model is the one that has the snap coupler to lift it but I'm not sure on how to attach it to the lower end. Also where I can find out some more imfo on belt lengths and so on and so farth. Thanks Jerry

I don't have a picture. I know the book does, but I'm not sure it has the detail you may want. However,if you have the bracket that bolts under the tractor (drawbar removed), bolt it so that it faces toward the front of the tractor. It will be obvious that the lift linkage from the mower hooks to the right tractor lift arm (snap coupler). The only issue will be where to attach the spring. With the mower completely raised, no tension should be on the spring, and it should expand a bit when lowered. My spring had a flat steel extension (approx 4" long) that bolted to a hole driled in the flat steel that the fender bolted to. Hope this helps. You might post your question and a request for a picture or owners manual on the "Unofficial Allis" web site. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful AC folks on that web site. Mike

Do you have any pictures of that hitch? Or would that book have it? Thanks

the 80R may be worth only about $250, but is a superb mower. I'd recommend replacing the original guards with NH double haybine guards. The mower attaches underneath the tractor to a bracket (with rods at each end) that receives the two u or c shaped parts of the mower frame. Drawbar has to be removed to bolt on the bracket. In addition, the mower will have a link to attach to one arm of the snap-coupler lift and a spring, which bolt to the heavy metal (approx 3/8") of the tractor that is immediately beneath the fender. Both the lift and spring are on the right rear side of the tractor. See if you can get an owner's manual or a copy of Norm Swinford's book on Allis Chalmers. Mike
