We're getting a Farmall Super A w/ only a front loader. We're told it doesn't have standard pto for hookup. (so far only seen photos of it) What should we look for r/t implements. We need a tiller. Are those avail for it? Any other info on this tractor appreciated. We don't know much about them.
Thanks
Sandi

The plow will be a model A-193 mounted plow for the Super A. If you need pictures of how to hook it up etc. or other pictures of a Super A send me an e-mail. [email protected]

Post on the Farmall board may be helpful also.

Hope this helps,

Mike

i doubt if you want to put a tiller behind that tractor. probably not enough horse power or the ground speed will be to fast. you'd need a three point hitch on the tractor to hook a tiller to any way. if you do go ahead and put a tiller or bush hog behind that tractor be sure and get an over riding clutch to go on the pto shaft for safety sake. a tiller doesn't take the place of a turning plow and disk. its only good for softer ground that been worked up by other implements and the tiller just makes quick work of clods or makes a fine seed bed.

That's great info. We have compacted soil. Didn't realize the tiller wouldn't work as well but it's good to know. Which would be better, a plow or disk for this hard soil w/ a few weeds??? I've seen disks avail out here for $300-400, but I think they are just pull behind (technical term I think). The plows are more scarce and more $$$. Are the pull behind, the type I need? We only have about 4 acres of pasture, not near enough but it's better than nothing. Sandi

Sandi, that is way to high for a pull behind disk. You should be able to get one for 100 dollars or maybbe even less. I bought a real good set of 7 foot IH disk for 50 bucks last year. Those sre to big for your tractor, but you get the idea. You need a 5 foot or 6 at the very most. The plow is not that high, and you do need both. Use the plow first to turn the ground and then work it down with the disk harrow.
