I am having a devilish time removing the knife! The manual says to remove bolt and slide the knife out, I have loosened the bolt but the washer won't let the bolt out. Is it a washer and a bolt or a one piece bolt and washer? Any help would be appreciated. Dick

It is a bolt and a washer. If I recall correctly the washer is just a protective sheild for the ball brg. Try screwing the bolt back in the sickle a couple threads and putting your socket over the head of the bolt and taping down.A good penetrant would help.

After much angst and toil, I finally got that bolt out to remove the knife. The bolt and washer are two pieces however the bolt was rusted to the bearing and therefore kept turning in the raceway. Lots of prying and it finally popped out. Dick

Thanks, at least I know what I am working with, apparently it has been awhile since the knife was removed so the washer is really rusted. Good idea about tapping down on it. r.s.
