About 8 days ago someone was asking about McCormick plow wheels and it is a subject that comes up every once in a while. The replies were not giving very much actual information. I went out and measured some wheels and this is what I got. McCormick like the No. 8 Little Genious plow takes is a rim unique to early McCormick and they have a 7" bolt patern with a 5 3/8" center hole with 8 lug holes but on the plows only 4 of them are used. A standard 6 lug rim has a 6" bolt patern with a 4 5/8" center hole, different ones have said a 6 lug Chevy truck rim will replace these, well the truck wheel has a 5 1/2" bolt patern with a 3 5/8" center hole. A standard 5 lug implement wheel is a 5 1/2" bolt patern the same as the 5 lug car wheels thru 1948 and half ton truck wheels but the car and 2 wheel drive truck wheels had a 3 3/4" center hole while the implement wheels had a 4" center hole. The 4 wheel drive trucks used a wheel with a 4 1/4" center hole. And it was mentioned that a David Bradley wagon that were only made with 5 lug wheels fit that McCormic plow that requires 4 lugs on 7". The 4 lug implement wheel has a 5" lug patern and has a 3 1/2" center hole. I have found no car wheel that will replace any of the McCormick 8 lug hole wheels or either the 6 or 4 lug implement wheels. A Geo Tracker wheel will replace a 5 lug implement wheel if the dish is not a problem.

Thanks for info. I've always thought the manufacturers could do better standardizing wheels, but it dosen't seem to be getting any better.
