I have recently purchased a Hesston 1014 (14). I am very happy with performance except for the increased drying time that we are having. It takes about 1 day longer to dry the windrows as compared to our NH 489. The knives, guards, auger and conditioner all are in good working order. The rollers at set about 1/16 apart. My question is how much tension should be on the rollers? The stems on the Alfalfa in the windrows is not cracked indicating to me that there should be more tension in the rollers. Any thoughts?
