They are called Ag-bags and have been around for 15-20 years. Nothing experimental about them.

The same places should have the white/black plastic as well. The thing is.... this time of year the inventory is probably mostly gone, they're not ordering any more until spring unless they can help it, and if they're out, they're out...
When I order in the spring I can get any type I want. I just have to pay more for the white/black. We use 8 mil black and never have a problem with it.

Saw some neat silage bags at the experimental farm, they are plastic sacks that hold 200 ton each and lay out on the ground. A machine packs the silage from the wagons into the sacks then you seal the ends.

That's the AgBag system. I've never used it or even looked at it up close, but it's fairly popular in some areas. There's none down here because there's no baggers here. Everyone is either using towers or bunkers... Like barnrat said, the bags have been around a good long time.
