To all of you who have a much used 535 baler, and possibly other models to, check the inside bale chamber area at the bottom belt roller for wear. The sheeting used is only 1/8" thick. if worn thin enough the bottom roller bearing support will just break out, and can cause quite a mess, don't ask me how i know.

If the bolthead in front of the roller that holds the bearing support is worn away,it is an indication that you will be due for a disaster. I had to rebuilt both sides, and used 1/4 " material for the bearing support, instead of the coffee can tin that JD is fond of using in these balers. I also welded a 3/16" of sheet metal over top of the affected bale chamber area.

I hope this message will help some of you from having to repair things after the fact.

It would be wise to inspect, and cover the affected area with at least an 1/8" sheeting including the entire bearing support.

Thank you for the helpfull tip.I will look at my 435 to see how close it is to wearing out in the chamber.More of us should post warnings like this to help others out, better than telling how to fix it after it is broken.pd
