I bought and old 4 feet shredder/ rotary cutter and I need to remove the gearbox to do a complete cleaning and repair. However, I cannot remove the big slotted hex nut that holds the stump jumper/blade wheel to the gear box shaft below the shredder. I have removed the cotter pin but the bolt refuses to budge. Is this a right hand or left hand nut. It is a Mohawk shredder. Any help will be welcomed. Thank you.

I would use a six point socket and an air impact wrench. Give this place a call in TX and see if they know whether it has left hand threads. Hal

Heat it up with a torch first. Then use the impact wrench on it.
