I have a Ferguson TO-35 tractor. Would it be worth the money to invest in a over-running clutch for safety, wear and tear, etc.? Any advice is appreciated.

Greg

Spend the money and get one, I wouldn't hook a brush hog to a tractor w/o live PTO without a over-run clutch. It is to dangerous. The pin that holds the clutch on the PTO shaft broke and let the clutch and drive shaft slip off the tractor PTO but did not damage anything(It came from TSC).I am ordering one from the url below, it has the push pin like on a regular PTO Shaft. YES, YES and YES. With out one you could end up getting your self dead or hurt easy if you use any PTO equipment since they like to push the tractor 5-30 plus feet when you push the clutch pedal down with out haveing an ORC

Greg, absolutely, if you are pulling a bushhog/shredder. I don't know about wear and tear but it can make a huge difference in safety. And it's not much of an investment. About $40 maybe? Go get ya one!

Thanks for the advice.... from what I've read, for the safety I figured it would be money well spent...since I'm a fire inspector by day, prevention is a way of life. Thanks. I'll get with my local TSC for a purchase soon.
