got a New Holland 276 baler , just baled 10 acres and got flat tyre on plunger side.

Tyre knackered so went to a local implement seller( the place was a bit like wolf creek-gulp!!) and got a second hand tyre.It was fitted on my rim and pumped up.tonight i fitted it on the baler and it looked half flat so i pumped it up but not sure what pressure to put in.

Any suggestions --its a 6.50 x 16 tyre.

thanks to anyone who replies
Mike

That should be a 6 ply rated tire or possibly an 8 ply rated. A 4 ply rated will always be on the flat side even with the rated pressure.

put enough air in the tyre so that it stands up with a very minor bulge at the bottom. this will provide enough to hold the implement up and get max floatation out of it. If pumped up higher then the tyre footprint is smaller and the tyre is more inclined to cut a track in a soft field.
This works for any tyre on any farm equipment UNLESS the owners manual states a specific height the tyre or axle needs to be

by the way where are you located at??

On the side of the tire it should have a place that tells how much air to run in it. If not the common PSI is around 35 PSI. By the way tire is spelled with an I not a Y. LOL

...unless you're on the "other" side of the pond, and then they spell tire with a "y".
I'm partial to the "i" myself, but many of the euro manuals I have do spell it the other way.
