Dose any one have the belt number for a Ford 501 sickle bar mower? And how do you adjust the lift to bring the sickle up level when the mower is lifted? Mine hangs down. How do you adjust the trip so it wont trip real easy? Thanks

Short bolt,

I have a Ford 501 mower that I use with my Ford 2000 tractor. I wouldn't have had any idea how to make adjustments on my 501 if I hadn't had an owner's manual. If you don't have one, you would be really well served to get one from your nearest New Holland dealer or find one on the internet to buy. There are many adjustments that need to be made to get the mower to work properly.

Good luck,

1 - there are 3 different pulley combinations, so you need to measure your pulley diameters.

2 - If you clamp the lift arm farther to the front of the tractor, won't lift as high. If you clamp it (goes on the lower left 3pt arm) farther to the rear, it will lift higher.
