Anyone familiar with a Agratec Automatic Bale Stooker? I can not get it to stook properly. It might be missing a spring?? Pictures/Manuals or any help appreciated. 1-705-387-1777 collect if you want.

When I was a kid we bound hay in shocks, and picked it up that way, but it was a pain in the bahookie. Is that what's being talked about here? Why would you want to go back to that? A loose hay loader would be preferable to that dog and pony show.

Sorry, but get the torch or a large hammer and reduce the thing to small pieces. They were built for the west and make the stooks inside out and they were impossible to pick up with a stook fork. I bought one at a sale because it was cheap and I got what I paid for. It is now likely part of somebody's car and good riddance.

Sled affair goes behind a square baler, you build a pyramid of six bales for the tough hay to cure and shed water at the same time. Can make good hay for storage out of tough hay in tough weather. A great favourite around here until wrapped round bales came along. A good guy on a manual stooker will do 3000 bales a day and any "automatic" stooker will reduce a good person to tears in a half hour.
