Hi All , I need to figure out what the quick attach one piece shares are called and if they are still available . I have 15 of them but the old smithy that USED to sharpen them sold his trip hammer a few years ago and said it's to hard to do by hand at his age . SOOO , I'm wondering what they are called . On three different #8 plows I have there are three different share setups . The one piece quick attach , the ones I think are called Plow Chief's that have a seperate point and shin and the four bottom has one piece bolt on shares with seperate shins that look like throw aways . The frogs on the #8's are all similar having the one piece rounded front with the QA share frog and the ( assumed ) Plow Chief frog having the nipple on the left lower front side for the point notch to go around . Could someone give me a rundown on the name progression of #8 plow bottoms from oldest to newest ?

I have the opportunity to buy three very good condition slat bottoms alone ( frog and all ) Just wondering what's a fair price for them ? I think they are plow chiefs with the seperate point and shin . I also have the opportunity to buy a #8 slat bottom complete usable plow thats had a bad paint job put on it ( three bottom )What might that be worth ? Thanks for any opinions that are offered ! Randy, I don't really know the answers to your question, but I do know those salts are very expensive to replace when you break one. I gave 80 dollars for only one several years ago for my plow chief slat bottoms. The plows you are looking at could have Super Plow Chiefs on one set as they have throw away shares.
