I am looking for a Kuhn Alterna 400 w/impellers. I seem to be able to find the 500 but it is a little too big for my needs. I need something that I can travel the roads with, without spending half a day moving and closing it up, any ideas would be great!! Mike

Beware of used Discbines , JUST DO NOT DO IT ,Money pit ,If you live in a rocky area , These rocks about the size of your fist will Play bad mitton inside the tarp and crimping rollers , conseQuently rack up a lot of needless expense,, Disc mowers will flip them right on thru ,,Had both a New Idea Disc Bine ,And 20 years back a Vicon ,,Both USED but Supposedly in top running condition ,,NOT !!!,I am sticking with my NH 489 ,So much easier on the wallet

I am not new to discbines by any means, I have been mowing with them for 12 years now. Been running a NH 411 and then a JD 926 with impellers, we do use a couple of 489's as well, but I am looking for a mower that is narrower on the roads. We do 500 acres and most of it is spread all over. Hence my reasoning for the Kuhn Alterna 400 mower. So if you know of anyone who may have one for sale, I would be interested in at least looking at it. thanks for the warning, I must agree, rocks are no friends of discbines!! Nobody grows rocks like we do in New England!!
