I've used this for light mowing and have never done anything but grease it using the zerks. What is the recommended maintenance?

Make sure the hold down clip at the heel holds the knife firmly down to the guards. Too much up & down play and the groved connection on the upper strap, which connects the drive to the knife will snap. When you need to replace guards, I'd go with NH double guards and hold down clips and use bolts rather than rivettes for the sections. Using NH guards one will have to put the nut side of the bolts up. Great mowers! Mike M

If oil leakage around the Gear Box [fix it if possible]is evident keep a close eye on the oil level [80/90 hypoid lube] other wise it is a very good mower. I have had several and I wore out the first one ."This is back in the days". Used up lots of belts. Always kept several on hand.

Don't have my manual for them any more so can't give the "offical" answer. In addition to the grease zerks the drive assemblet take 80 or 90 weight gear oil if I remember right. Other than that keep sections sharp, guard bolts tight, replace wear plates or worn out ledger plates on guards.
