Hey guys, Just got my replacement 336 baler this past week after my 346 got messed up with the feeder forks getting in the bale chamber at the wrong time. Will fix that this winter as there is no time for that right now. The 336 is baling like a champ, was definatly a good buy. Just wanted to brag a minute on the ole girl. 1000 bales through it without a miss and counting. The only bales that didn't tie was when I ran out of wire.

Read your article; my JD-346 self destructed when the twine needles came up out of sync.

My hay volume in the windrows was too much, baler kept clogging up and I manually moved the flywheel to get cleaned out and "BAM" ; broke both needles.

Do you know where I can get a set, without going
broke?

I have had to rotate the flywheel by hand before too. I believe my problem was not windrow volume but rather the knives having too much space on the plunger head and or needing the knives replaced or possibly sharpened.
As for your needles getting broke, it sounds more like the brake disc needs new linings on it and also your safety stop did not do its job of protecting the needles, it should have jumped out and stopped the plunger head.
The twine needles, part number ae36262 are $110.00 each according to Deeres parts online. I do not know of any used ones around anywhere, you might try kaddatzequipment.com. I think they have a few salvage balers down there
