Hey guys

Been baling today with this old baler; worked great for a while then quit wiring the bales. Was almost dark; tried watching it go through the cycle but hard to do as I can't get it to trip manually (like the book says it should). Anyway, I gave up on that till morning.

While reading the book it says to pump that pump oiler every 4 hours. The oiler assembly is gone; anyone have one on a junk baler you'd sell? Also, where do the hoses go to? Want to shoot some oil into where the tubes should be but don't really know where to look.

Any help appreciated; may have more questions on the wiring but I think (trying to watch it while it was running) that the needles didn't lift.

Got it going! Was the needle "special shear pin" (as described in the owners manual; accoeding to the dealer's catalog a common 1/8" roll pin) so I told him to give me several in case I sheared it again. He handed me 3; total cost 58 cents! Couldn't believe I got out for less than a buck! Put one in; seemed rather loose & sure enough it fell out after one cycle. Put another in; put a hose clamp around the bar covering both ends of the pin so it can't slip out & all is well.

Guess those little fittings for that oiler have been replaced with grease fittings; couldn't find anything else.

Lew there is no reason to not be able to trip tying system and run through by turning flywheel. If hay is in chamber it's harder to do but can be done. As to the multi-lube tubes,they were routed to the tying system including needle frame pivots. Attachment fittings have probably been replaced with grease zerts. Tx Jim
