Looking for information on how to repair a endless drive belt. Bad spot where grease from threshing machine dripped down on it.

An endless belt does not have that splice in and that ruins a belt for small pulleys. Now if it is an endless belt chances are good it is a rubberised belt and if it is I would try the Blech White tire cleaner on it, I use that to rejuvinate wiper blades. Now if it is the canvas belt then I don't know but would probably try a dish washing soap like Dawn that is made for grease. just try not to completely soak the belt.

since its bad any way i wouldn"t be afraid to soak that bad spot in castrol super clean for a day or so. it will clean it pretty good. i guess i"m lost since i haven"t had much experience with those belts what difference does grease on it make. i can see it maybe slipping but is there any other reason why you can just give it a good cleaning. don"t use that castrol super clean from walmart in a purple jug indoors and don"t get down over it. it will take your breath away. other than that i"ve had good luck using it on cleaning even dried up oil based soaked paint brushes. it will bring them back to like new condition.

Find a good Farm Store and they can probably furnish you with the appropriate "Aligator" Fastner for your belt. I'm sure your Belt is spliced with one of them now if you would look some where on it. of

Cut it out and splice it.
