Anyone have a clue where replacement knotters can be found? I am having trouble with the outside knotter tieing, have tried everything short of replacing it.
thanks

One big problem that will cause your problem, our 46 had had it, is that the slides that the plunger ride on get worn and let the plunger bounce to much. When we bought ours there was a whole complete plunger laying there and we did not realize why but the slides are welded on and it was easier for him to replace the plunger (That was 30+ years ago). Before that we found out with our New Holland that the slides will do that. Tried everything to get it tying and finally got a different mechanic and first thing he said was the slides are worn, change them and it will work, Dad said don't believe you but go ahead and without touching the knotters it started tying.

I think you can still get them through the dealer. But, a problem I had was that the parts may be listed as discontinued under the 46 baler parts list. I was told that parts were interchangable up to the 440 baler. I had to go to the 440 parts list to find finger plates listed as usable on the 46 baler. There wasn't any note at the 46 parts list telling you to go there, and my local dealer didn't know about this either.

That is very likely, but also depends on which knotters it has. Some have the old McCormick Deering knotters and some have the all twine knotters, but parts are available for both. Brad Marshall knows about all this stuff. 1-888-824-0544.
