Will plastic twine work in this baler. Sisal twine keeps busting, it was a few years old. It is not breaking at the know, ussually after it is tied, in the kicker, but mostly when the bales lands in or hits the side of the rack. Any suggestions.

Should be able to run plastic if you have a pan style thrower, guess the belt ones burn the plastic twine. If your sisal twine is two years old I would suspect that it got damp and that is the reason it is breaking, try some new balls of twine. Generally 7200 is for thrower balers and 9000 is for chute balers but depending on the mfg both can work.

Try loosening the bolt on the twine tension at the twine disc, sounds like it has too much tension and is tearing the twine during knot formation and then when it gets some strain on it the twine will break. When the knot is being formed it needs to pull the strings from the twine disc just a little and if they are too tight this will happen, try loosening the bolt about 1 flat at a time, hope this helps.

I may have the same problem, but don't understand your recommendation to loosen the bolt "one flat". Please explain. Thanks

I run a 273 with a model 54A bale thrower. I use 9000 sisal and never break a bale. I have 18 foot wagons. Is there any chance the twine is rubbing against a burr or sharp edge somewhere along its path? I also only use new holland brand twine.
