i have a 271 (formerly working) and a 268 parts baler. last yr. plunger stop did not do it's job and broke both needles and i also suspect bent the yoke. is this possible? here's why i presume this happened. i welded the needles back together but they wouldn't slide through the knotters. they actually hit the cutter knives. adjusted them as much as possible, even pulled out the grinder. still no luck. so i spent the $200 and bought 2 new ones to be certain-figured i screwed up the weld angles. any thoughts on where to start? any one know if the 268 yoke will work on a 271? getting ready to dig into the project. it made some nice bales when working properly. thanks in advance. also curious to know why plunger stop did not do it's job.

The needles are the same, but the carriage is different.
