I am building a mini bush hog, using a 90deg gear box from a Hines H1600 mower deck.

This gear box has a rubber disc inline to cushion the PTO drivetrain.

Any ideas on the name of this rubber disc, and where I might find a replacement? It is about 5in in diameter, about 3/4in thick, with 4 bolt holes at the "compass points", each hole about 2in from center.

Go to an automotive junkyard, look at Ford trucks, they have something very simillar in the steering. I think they are caled a "steering damper".

My buddy had one on a Cub Cadet with the Kubota 3cyl. diesel engine. Rag joint

if you decide to make it yourself see if you can get a piece of belting from a rock quarry. its tough stuff.

we had a Bushhog with the same thing. i didnt want to buy any so i took and old conveyor belt and hole punch to make my own. still going ater five years.

Thinking about getting some rubber automotive exhaust hangers and piecing something together.

I have one "old school" tractor shop I will check with before I engage in Adaptive Engineering!

I am hoping to find this part in the aftermarket. I've seen them before on various machines, even smaller versions as cushions in auto and truck steering columns.

Just cant seem to find a name for it, makes websearching for the part tough!

A Morse "Morflex" coupling will replace the ragjoint. It consists of 2 steel halves riveted together, with rubber do-nuts to cushion the load.
