Outside dimension of baler and wheel to wheel

Can someone please give me accurate measurements from outside to outside of the wheels, and the outside dimension of the baler itself? I'm boxing in the fenders on my trailer for a pickup of a 14T next week. Towing is not an option as the baler is about 2 hours away with "normal" driving speeds.

I'll have the dealer load it onto the "box" with a forklift. When home, I'll put ramps up to the fenders and pull it off with the tractor. It will be loaded on with the tongue facing the rear of the trailer. Of course I'll beef up the supports around the fenders to take the 3-4000 lbs. The weight of the baler will not be on the fenders during transport.

Any other suggestions?

I just measured our 14T; from outside of bulging tire to outside of other bulging tire is 106".
The main axle (if you removed the stub axles on each side) is approximately 92"- 93" wide.

On AVERAGE it measures 94-95" wide, problem with my 94-95 number is sometimes it is oriented to the left of the baler and sometimes it is oriented to the right of the body. Kind of like a snake.

Weight per the manual is 2550# w/PTO, 2800# w/Engine. Width per the manual is 8 ft 10".

TX656, thanks. That's exactly what I needed. I'll also go to the picture section and look as suggested below.

Thanks to all for all the great replies. If anyone else has any pictures of this or a similar baler on a trailer, send them to me. I think I'll need them when I'm done with this project. I'll submit some pics when I'm finished.

Go to the implement photos and search for "214t", I have a coulple of photos of how I transported mine. I basically had two timbers to slide it up on the trailer until it was balanced weight wise. I had a couple of wheel weights on the side opposite the bale chamber. Once the axle was on the timbers I took the wheels off so it clearded the fenders. Then just chain and strap in down good. Coming off is just the opposite.

I don't have exact dimensions, but I'd expect it to be handy 8 feet wide, both on the wheels and above.

Personally, i'd have the dealer check and repack the wheel bearings, or do it myself when I got there, and then tow it home. If you've got anything more than a Ranger, you'll tow it fine at highway speeds. I move mine with a Ranger from time to time, and it's no problem at all. Just watch the tires and wheel bearings....

I doubt that a 14T weighs much more than a ton. It has the same timken tapered roller bearings that are on trailers. Make sure the bearings have grease. Blow the tires up so that they do not heat from flexing too much. If the tires are badly checked put on good ones. Put it out in the wind and go home with it. Your speed should be goverened by how you can SAFELY stop with it. best Yeoman

My problem is I do not have a deck over trailer. I have fenders that stick up about 18" above the deck and only 81" between the fenders. The owner said he has a forklift and can place the baler in front of the fenders IF I bring a piece of channel iron for the tires to sit on. I think boxing in the fenders that the baler can sit on so I can get it back off once getting home may work better. My loader will not lift it off at home and I do not have a forklift. If anyone can give me the dimensions that would help.

I really do not want to try and pull this thing 200 miles if I can get it on my trailer.

dweitzel: Like Doug, I think you'll find most balers will sit on an 8' wide deck. I hauled 5 balers, 4 different makes all on one trip with a 53' trailer. First one backed on, and then just rotated after that for space. All baler wheels were on the 8' deck. I can't give you models, but there was one Deere and this was 1978 so very likely it was 14 or 214.

These were used balers, and one dealer had a surplus of used balers, and a dealer 100 miles away couldn't supply his market.

I've got one in the front yard right now; I can measure and post dimensions in the morning if no one else has by then.

I was between trailers when I bought this one so we towed it home over 100 miles. Lots of stops to make sure everything was pulling OK. Took 6 hours and my son and I had a blast. On the way home one guy behind me started flashing his lights like crazy. I thought "What a Jerk, he can pass me just up ahead." Turned out he was trying to tell me I was in the process of shredding the right side tire. We had brought several extra tires/wheels along and had it changed in less than 10 minutes.
Quickly learned to stay OFF of the gravel roads and stay ON the black top. We went down the week before and pulled off both stub axles and brought them home to clean and repack the bearings. You'll need a press to get them out. They were pitted but the bearing house wanted over $200 for replacement stuff. That was almost as much as I paid for the baler so I said no way and only bought new seals. During parts of the trip we tested towed it at 40-45 mph and it did very well. We did not do that for long because of the pitted bearings and the older tires.

I don't have one to measure, but I have hauled them on a 8' wide deckover trailer with no problem.
