International 440 baler

This machine will make around 100 bales then the twine will wrap around the billhook. It looks like it would knot if the twine would just slide off. Any ideas? Thanks.

Your knot is breaking and causing it to wind around the hook. These balers have no stripper arm like others do. Try losening the hook tension a bit. Could also have a rough spot or sharp edge on slot in the breast plate. It will need sanding down a little with emery cloth. It is hard to diagnose without seeing what is going on. Is the twine broke on the top of bale or bottom? Every time a knot is missed you will have to clear it from hook yourself or it will continue to miss knots. Twine tension could be to tight as well. Correct tension at the can is between 4 to 10 lbs.
