I have purchased this mower and it works. My question concerns the proper 3-point connections and the mechanism to raise the siclkle bar with the 3-point linkage while cutting.
This unit was manufactured by the Detroit Harverter Co.
The lift mechanism appears to be a short (apprx. 1 foot) length of chain over a 4" pulley.
The unit includes a stabilizer apparatus as well.
I have searched the archives and have not been able to find the answers I need.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Does it have a Massey Harris tak on it? Detroit Harvestor made the second series of mower to carry the Ferguson name that was identical to the first series Dearborn mower except for name tag and paint color. This mower was made in the late 40's. Then they made the Case-Detroit mower for Case VA series tractors. I have the information on the above mowers and 3 of the Ford & Ferguson versions tho never tried to mount one. Never heard of them making one for Massey Harris. Is it for a 3 point hitch or a special tractor direct hitch? And if so what model Tractor?

Leroy,
The unit says MH 60. It is a 3 point mount that fits very close to the tractor(short pto shaft).
The paint appears to be the MH or MF red.
Thanks for your reply and if you have any literature I would be very interested in it.

well, if it works like my JD 350, there is an arm reaching forward toward the tractor, in the vicinity of the drawbar. That arm is above drawbar, and is attached to drawbar with a short length of chain. When the 3pt hitch lifts mower, the arm is pulled downward, (or stays in the same place, depending on your viewpoint,) this puts tension on chain over pulley to lift cutter bar.
