NH and Kuhn connection?

ordered some parts for our 411 discbine, and there were kuhn part number stickers on them. would like to know the exact relation of the 2 companies and which models have interchangeable parts, and how much of the 411 is kuhn. is it cheaper to go kuhn for parts or NH (knives are same price from NH as discount farm stores not worried about them)?
our machine has most of what are called the "88 style" parts in the parts book, but it is a couple hundred below the 884400 ser # where the 88style begins.

Alot of the time when a company hires another company to build equipment for them like that they will change it slightly from the original companies design so I doubt that Kuhn parts would work but they might. If you have a good Kuhn dealer you could have them check the part numbers you have to see if they cross over to a Kuhn mower.

it was a stone guard i ordered. the kuhn sticker on it has the number 559.012.00
called a kuhn dealer (not their main line) and they couldn't make it work. knives seem to be directly compatible, but less commonly replaced parts are proving to be harder to direct cross.

what i don't like is that this sheet metal "stone guard" is $50 more than a heavy cast piece for a current NH model (not the same design at all). not sure if the kunh part would cost the same or less if would be available.

Deere and NH both purchased cutterbars from Kuhn and built their own machines. (Deere builds their own cutterbars now, I'm not sure about NH.) My best guess is anything other than the cutterbar parts will not interchange between the three. Hopefully someone else can come up with more information.

Hey Karl- I believe that Kuhn made the entire cutter bar assembly for the NH discbines. Kuhn actually made cutterbars for a lot of different companies other than NH including JD.
