Yes the 135 should pull it real good.
If you're talking about clay it needs to be just a little moist. The top of the soil should be pretty dry and the moisture will be underneath. When you get it plowed don't wait too long to disc the ground or it will be like concrete when it dries.

If it's too wet you'll just spin, the ground won't work right, or you'll be stuck.. If it's too dry it's like plowing concrete, and ends up like little rock baseballs. You'll be able to tell after the 1st year of working it. The heavy soils are hard as heck to learn just the right time to plow, because the window is so small on the time limits.

My cousin used to pull 2-14s with his 135 gas in heavy clay soil. My grandfather always used to say that if the soil sticks together and turns over into one long, shiny piece behind each bottom, then it's too wet.

We usually pick up a handfull of soil that has been turned up and if it crumbles up into fine pieces it is usually ok but if you pick up a handfull and squeze it in your hand and it makes a good solid ball it is to wet and will be hard to disk all of the clods out of it later.AD

Just to add one more thing to all this good advice here.Only plow it once or you will find yourself with a shovel digging your plow out.Good luck

Doesn't _anyone_ on this forum plow in fall? That's the only real window of opertunity here in Minnesota, and winter will mellow the soil. I guess with our short growing swason we don't get to sit around waiting for ideal xonditions....

If you plow it in the fall down her, then next spring you have a very rough weed patch that you can't plow til mid summer.
